Current Metrics
- SY14 Attendance: 84.9% (Goal of 85%)
- Days of Peace: 78% for SY 14 (Goal of 80%)
- > $1 Million in scholarships
- All graduates have a post-secondary transition plan
- Freshmen on Track: > 85% (Goal of 86%)
- Preliminary Spring 2014 ACT scores: 15.0 (Goal of 15)
College & Career Updates
- > $2800 raised for transitioning students to college this summer using GoFundMe
- Walmart Wishlist includes one year’s worth of college essentials – 1/3 of items already purchased by donators
- Greencorps will employ > 30 students for summer. Students will learn how to repair bicycles and garden.
- BHS Student Canvassing – employ 15 students to canvass neighborhood with BHS marketing materials
- Class of 1961 donated three $4000 scholarships to the following students:
- Jasmine Bennett
- Corteris Parks
- Desire Feazell-Rhodes
Community Engagement Updates
- Freshmen Connection: July 7 – July 31
- Sports Camp: June 23 – July 31
- Chicago CARES Serv-a-Thon site on June 8. >100 volunteers painted, planted, and organized throughout the building
